"Special Offers"

I joined Good Sam for the discount at campgrounds although I'm not really sure I saved any money but I would never have joined if I knew that by doing so, I'd open the flood gates to all of the "special offers". It seems like I get stuff almost daily....cards for this or that.

Is there a way to opt out of all the junk...ummm.... I mean "special offers"?
  • Thanks, Jim! We shouldn't have to opt out... it should be set up to opt IN if you want all that crap.

Mark, I shouldn't have to deal with it. I didn't ask for it and didn't want it. I think it's sneaky and underhanded to tack all that stuff on when you join then have to go back and opt out.
  • TucsonJim: Thanks for finally posting a check list on how to get off receiving some of this stuff. It would be great if this could be made into a "Sticky" at the top of the page so that it's always there.

As full-timers who don't want these kinds of mailings, emails, etc. we have done the above steps a long time ago and I just assumed other folks knew about this. Thanks again!
  • Then you'll just receive an urgent renewal notice each month hereafter stating that your membership is up (in July 2014); ... that membership is increasing to $xx/yr and if you renew now, you'll save $xx. One of the oldest oxymorons in the "play book" that retailers have used to generate sales... You gotta spend now to save.:h LOL.
  • Yes, there is a way!

    1. Go to Good Sam Club
    2. Log in. If you don't have an account, set one up (it's free).
    3. Go to "My Account"
    4. Click on "My Communication Preferences".
    5. Click on the little + sign that is right by your email address This will open up a very long list of items that they will contact you about.
    6. Put a check mark in the boxes of items you're interested in, and make sure those that you're not interested in are un-checked.

    Hope this helps.

    Jim
