Surge Guard Overdose

Question

Just purchased a luxury 2015 Class A with a built-in Surge Guard. Someone once advised me that I "also" needed the type that gets attached to the utility post at each campground. Isn't that overkill?? Hate to pay top dollar for something I really don't need.

Luxury has nothing to do with electrical issues. You are certain the 2015 surge guard is working? If you do buy consider an autoformer with surge protection for low voltage protection too.

Overkill in my opinion, but if I had a choice I'd have gone with the Progressive Industries one rather than the Surge Guard one.

i have a wired-in Surge guard, no need for a second one at the pedestal, have no idea why anyone would even suggest that. :h

Perhaps the one installed isn't an EMS. If it's not, then you need an EMS.
