That's a very valid point and one I have given a lot of thought to. Here is what I have concluded:

In my personal extreme environmental beliefs I believe civilization should end. It's attempting to murder the planet and it should be stopped.

I understand that you totally disagree but that is just a matter of opinion. I'm not trying to change yours, and you aren't going to change mine. We are just going to have to agree to disagree because It is a very long discussion I'm not willing to have here.

So then the question is how can I best hasten the fall of civilization? I see that I have only two choices:

1) Begin taking acts of sabotage against civilization. How can I possibly justify that? If I catch someone in the act of beating, abusing, raping or trying to kill another person, don't I have a moral obligation to take whatever action I have to take to defend that person up to including violence? Of course I do. I 100% believe the planet is a person and it must be defended even up to acts of violence. Again, I know you think that is crazy, but you aren't going to change my mind no matter what you say, and I don't want to change your mind either. I'm just answering your question.

2) Work from within the system to hasten it's destruction. I believe this is where my strengths lie and it is what I have chosen to do. Every person who moves into a van has greatly stopped trying to kill my beloved Sacred Mother Earth. And for that I am terribly grateful. The more the better!! And the best thing is it gives them a wonderful life and does the planet good. Everyone WINS, except civilization, who I want to lose.

Whichever way I go, I am going to use every tool at my disposal. And I will not offer any apologies for it.

Now, you may very well decide you can't belong to a forum with such a bizarre owner with such an evil agenda. I totally understand and respect that. I wish you all the best and god speed as you go your own way. If you decide to stay, you are always welcome here.

I just want to put in a word in support of living in a stick and brick house. Van dwellers need the people that live in stick and brick to enable the opportunity to live off grid in a camper. If all live off grid means no one to build and maintain common infrastructure , the same infrastructure we all depend on. Face it, in some fundamental, miniscule way we are parasites.

akrvbob,
You're right and I agree totally. If everyone followed my advice and quit their jobs and started living on public land civilization would collapse. The grid would fail, crops wouldn't be grown, eventually people would die by the billions.

Here is the difference, almost all of you think that is a bad thing. I think it is a good thing.

Humans have become a malignant cancer on the planet and the only cure is surgery to cut us out. Me, my family, the people I love, you too, we are all a malignant cancer, and ultimately the day will come when we must be eliminated.

Fortunately, it isn't going to happen that way. I have zero total influence so I'm not going to change anything. Only a teeny-tiny percentage will ever hear of my message and and only a tiny percentage of them will respond. Those tiny few will become less of a malignant cancer and we will do our teeny-tiny part of being part of the solution, preventing the purge of humans that is inevitable.

Humans have declared war on the Earth and if we win we will be destroyed, and if we lose we will be destroyed.

My message is to urge you to declare a truce with the Earth and stop trying to destroy it (and make your life much better at the same time!!). That is a message I am very proud of and hope everyone follows.
Bob

Gotta hand it to ya- you're the first Troll I've ever encountered that when ignored by most viewers actually
carries on the controversy all by himself.

Lol. Not at all. Like it says just surprised to see a Good Sam advertisement on a site like that. No lies. No nasty words. Go read his posts for yourself if you dont believe it. Good Sam isn't the only ad on there so its no big deal. Just surprising as GS seems like a "normal" RV site.

This is a very interesting topic, and we will let it go as long as everyone is nice.

I am probably much more extreme than any of you. I consider civilization to be so evil and immoral that none of it's laws are absolutes.

The only absolute is that you don't get to do harm to other people. But even that can be bent or broken. If I come across someone beating a child then my greater moral obligation is to make them stop whatever use of force is required.

So here are my moral absolutes and what i would recommend to others:

    1) I never do harm to other people unless it is to protect someone else.
    2) I avoid all interactions I possibly can with Authority or Law Enforcement. That means I break as few laws as I possibly can even if I disagree with them. But if I must, I do--always keeping as close to Rule #1 as possible.
