This makes absolutely no sense to me

I had an awning replaced using GS Extended warranty. It has torn within the two year warranty window from Dometic. I asked GS Extended Warranty people about its replacement and their answer is below...

You said Dometic has a 2 year warranty. Can't you use that for the next 2 years?
