FK and others:

About eight months ago I hit a concrete post by a gas pump and was stuck. GS did not want to send a tow truck unless police and fire were on hand.

I got a tow truck on my own and was pulled free. I sent paperwork to GS and they reimbursed me.

For future reference for those of us other members who're watching, I'd be interested to know if this kind of reimbursement is standard with the policy, or if this was a sort of above-and-beyond type thing.

I believe that in most cases, GoodSam will only pay in this type of situation if they were unable to provide service when you contact them first. From the wording of your post, I assume you did not contact GoodSam first. You can submit the bill for reimbursement , but because you did not allow them to provide service, I don't believe they have any obligation to do so.

I'm pretty sure that Good Sam has to provide the service for it to be paid for, but will follow the thread with interest to read the response from the company...
