Trip planning

I lost the use of Microsoft Streets and routes when my old lap top finally died. Checked out what was available and wound up using the Good Sam trip planner.
Took me a while to figure it out but after three weeks on the road I have to say that it is a pretty useful item. I use the print out as a base don't have live internet, and not a tech guy.
A few problems but nothing big. Can't drag on the route with my IPad and getting the program to make route alterations without a location to list is beyond me at this point.
The main thing I appreciate is the availability of distances to the nest stop. Helps to segment the route into number of miles we like to travel in a day when planning..

  • I have used it for years. I liked the old one better but have learned to use the new one. Like the OP, I use it to divide the trip into reasonable segments. I have my printed copies for trips back to 2008 and they are filled with notes that also help. lizzie
  • Well you learn something new everyday. I plugged an upcoming trip into the planner and it helped me find a campground mid way.
