I'm tired of hearing about people whining about junk mail. Get over it already, and just throw it away.
Well consider for a moment this: Take all the junk mail from Good Sam and multiply it by credit card companies, seed companies, useless companies with "Vermont" in their name trying to sell you almost anything, then all of the junk mail you get from AARP (which is the worst hands down). Now think about that being multiplied MILLIONS of times.
Most of it is unwanted and millions of tons of it goes into our landfills and waste streams. This is to say nothing of the trees that are used to make all of this unwanted junk. And the fuel used to transport it from printer to mailing center to your house (and this doesnt include all the fuel used while making and transporting all of that paper.
Now think about this: all of that cost is borne by the CONSUMER when buying almost any product and it's BILLIONS and BILLIONS of added cost to us all.
Now I think we need MUCH MORE complaining about junk mail than we have now. It would be better for all of us (to say nothing of the planet)if we could cut it by just 25% or more.
