Unsolicited mail

I have previously posted how I am being deluged (2 to 3 a week!) with Good Sam propaganda.
I used to return them with a note saying "Not interested, please remove me from distribution".
Made no difference.
Now I just throw them in the trash.

EXCEPT they have now notched it up one level!
Today I received a "Membership Dues Notice", complete with an account number.
What will it take to STOP wasting member dues money sending me this stuff.
I am not, never have been and never will be a Good Sam member!!

Some outfits are pretty good at disguising junk as legit mail. This "Membership dues notice enclosed" fits that category.
So it has to be opened to check it out. THAT is what I consider wasting my time.
Stuff that is obviously junk does simply get trashed.

  • When we used to get a lot of unwanted mail, I'd put it all in stack, then open it, and put a different companies mail in someone else's return envelope. And I made sure I stuffed enough in it so it weighed more than one ounce causing them to pay additional return mail postage. Doing that and making a few calls on catalogs, I now get almost no unwanted mail. Never had a problem with Camping World after making a phone call to them.

My mailman told me a story of a guy who was mad about junk. He put a bunch of dirt in a cardboard box then taped one the their return business envelopes from the junk mailer. That business has to pay for a heavy box of dirt mailed to them!

I've done that with a brick!

    I'm not!
And I hate getting mail that says it's a bill, but isn't!!
    A total waste of time.

Unless I had to pay for mail forwarding, (USPS), I don't care how much junk mail I get. I'm fortunate I suppose! I can burn my own trash were I live. File 13 and a golden yellow flame is no problem for junk mail!

Personally, I'd rather get junk mail than bills any day! And besides, all that junk mail is keeping the post office workers employed! Your junk is helping our economy! (something to think about???)
