I was a long time AAA customer and I can tell you they were great till the day I really needed them. It may come down to luck with AAA and I guess I was never lucky when it came to them. They left me and my family stranded on the side of the road on 2 different occasion for more than 12 hours. All kinds of excuses. Oh sorry we cant find you, Truck broke down,ETC. I would not spend a dime on AAA. Just Sayin'
I've used the AAA seven times for emergency road service, never had a problem. That includes twice when I was towing the trailer, so they had to send out two vehicles. Showed up within 90 minutes, as promised.
In fact, just on our last trip, I miscalculated my fuel consumption (strong headwinds), and ended up running out of gas in the middle of Iowa. I figured we'd be there for an hour or so, and we got in the trailer to have some lunch. Guy showed up with the gas in about 15 minutes.
So if, as you say, it's luck, well call me super-lucky. I flipped a coin 7 times and got heads all 7 times.
