Wow

Gotta be quick. Blogs sure become "Closed" quickly in Roadside Assistance.
  • Hello,

I am going to close this topic due to lack of activity. Thank you for your time and participating. Feel free to open a new thread on this topic in the future.

Is it a rant or just a post for post sakes

Both of the other topic posts were closed with an 'explanation post' by Stacy

Other section of forum posts just Close or Disappear with NO explanation

    Thanks Stacy!

In my case it is a rant.

The explanation of "lack of activity" when only a few days has passed since the last post is just a smoke screen......when a LOT of other threads are sitting there with no posts for months or years and still open.

In my opinion it is a thinly veiled attempt to limit the discussions that might shed a bad light on CW or it's subsidiaries.

    Yes it can be.

Believe it or not a LOT of regular users probably only check in once a week......or less if they are on the road.
THEN if they want to add something to the conversation, they either keep quiet or start a new thread.

The people closing those threads are hoping for the "keep quiet" option and no doubt are following orders BECAUSE.......closing a thread that is not going off track ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING USEFUL for the community as a whole.

My question to you, and the moderators who seem quick to close threads that paint CW in a bad light but leave others open for YEARS......is: What is the problem with leaving them OPEN ??
  • Well, unless someone is specifically looking in the GSRA forum, they will not be drawn to it unless they are looking the "Newest" or the "Active" listings. I usually open a new posting when it appears in the "Newest". 24 hours later it drops off the list. So, really, if no one is responding or posting after 3 days, anyone without pertinent information would not have much to add anyway.

Still, I've seen other threads remain open with no comments for a long time afterward. Some never close. I guess it all depends upon the moderator. I'm sure he's following guidelines too.
