HAH! You should have asked some questions. They took their time, and several breaks. Max they spent was 4 hours, I paid attention. It's not HARD labor, I've done it. Just 9 months ago actually. It's easy. It is tedious though.
They also got to use my tools and my detergent so they saved operating expenses. Also Kiki's is known for giving outside people that work here a break so the 50% number mentioned by another poster isn't true here. I was told they don't have to pay anything. Kiki's thinks of it as providing their guests perks.
So they made $10/hour each for unskilled labor. Or $12.50/hour if you include the tip. You could make a case for their expenses eating up some of that, but based on the equipment they had, it's age, and condition, I'd say they amortized that stuff years ago. So their only real expense was the Turtle wax.
I even donated two pots of coffee that they heartily scarfed down.
