I know Fausto and did a lot of business with him in Kino many years ago, his question is a good one and is a good sign. My opinion is that the Rv community as a whole changed about 2007 or a little before. People today have less time, less ambition to see new things and are more bewildered by media than ever before.
However, last year my caravan assistance business went up in numbers for the first time in 7 - 8 years. Next year we already have several caravans visiting us, these are mostly first timers to Mexico, we see it as a new beginning. A new wave of travelers.
Of course as the rigs keep getting bigger and the parks can't keep up, you are going to have dissenters because they can't get the services they want. Then the only answer is to stay in an RV park that suits you, that is probably in Arizona or Cali and it will set you back 60 - 70 per night. If you have a huge rig just because you can....I guess that limits your travel options.
The number of folks visiting Q in January has been at all time lows for years but last year we had a really good turn out....but again the crowd has changed. It's more about the deals they can get or the free stuff and not that much about travel or exploring. We managed to entice a few hundred people to explore Sonora and we are seeing the reservations increasing.
We just spent a week in our trailer at the Playa Bonita RV resort and it was very nice to see the younger families come down for the 4th. It was busy.
Fausto give me a call anytime if you feel the need to discuss this issue.
