its the same up here. personaly I would say just leave it closed till christmas and see what happens down there with your vaccanations. plus like you said due to people not being able to travel they decided to buy RV's and our parks system in BC and even the banff and jasper parks are pretty much overloaded till october, so this season is pretty much a write off already for visiters who want to rv .....
Not necessarily the best economic approach. Also, chances are if some of these people can go stateside they may cancel their existing reservations and come down to the US.
isnt a huge impact. the biggest economic boost comes from lifting our internal restrictions. we have been in some sort of lock down in BC for about 18 months, restuarants and services like that bore the brunt. People here are going out like crazy now that the restrictions were finaly lifted after the july 1st long weekend (not all the restrictions mind you, the rest here in BC are not expected to be lifted untill after september long weekend) so right now and probably for the forseable futur more people than every are hitting local restuarants and such. bigg events are still impacted and BC parks system is pretty much over booked. you might be able to go camping on a wensday and leave thursday if you dont have reservations already. esential travel for goods and services is and has always been flowing across the boardse so the econimic boost you speak up that needs a boost is in the travel industry for the most part.
for myself I would rather see the goverment continue to bail out that sector as aposed to opening to fast and letting the new varriants get a foothold in canada.
