My 2 centavos, this board is about Rv's I get that. I work in the RV community with my wife to a great degree. I'm not a writer so my story may not be perfectly written.
We have had a huge increase in tourism in Mexico for the last 3 years. None of it has to do with the RV community. Dollars that used to be spent on attracting Rvers has been reassigned to other sectors. The social make up of the Rv community has changed as well. It is normal to pay 60, 70 100, per night for a luxo spot somewhere in the states? Never will happen here. Price of gas and diesel got you down? You are more apt to stay close to home. Fears of being kidnapped for your 100,000.00 rig got you worried? Probably not worth risking going to Mexico.
Lol (laugh out loud......)
There are a lot of things going on right now that make other places more inviting than Mexico when you are cruising around in a 30,000 lb piece of equipment. Flying in, driving in, cruising in are all other forms of travel to Mexico. The tourist market is strong, but we wish more of you (rvers) would come on down. Congrats to those that have, and have the beaches to themselves.
Life is great south of the border. If you have the $$ for fuel you oughta make the trip! By the way just got back from shrimp and beer at my favorite beach club in PeƱasco!
