Hey Everyone,
We are on our first RV trip into Mexico. I have traveled Mexico many times over the last 30 years by air or car and have enjoyed every trip. I have found a number of places that I love to visit. I have added another this trip. We had intended to stay in San Carlos for two days. We are going on day 9....
The stories of violence have caused me to be more cautious about where and when I travel in Mexico. However, the place that has scared me the most in my RV travels has bee Detroit..
In the past I have enjoyed how far my US Dollars went in Mexico. I have been shocked this trip. Diesel is almost $.30 a gallon more than what I paid in California and Arizona on my way down. Beer is near double what I remember paying 3 years ago in Puerto Vallarta. This is turning out to be significantly more expensive than I had expected.
I am having a wonderful time and I will return with my RV in the future but the simple economics of it will cause my RV trips to be less frequent.
By the time I return home I will have been away for 5 weeks. For less than what I am spending I could fly to PV and rent a condo for a month.
I am having a ball and will be back but I do agree that Mexico by RV may not be as attractive as it once was.
Just my $.02
Steve
