Not to lessen the killings in the USA but those kids were killed by crazies. The students in Mexico were killed by the orders of a Mayor and his wife.
Of course I understand all of this and I always have. I get in trouble every time I post on the forum when someone brings up how these things happen in Mexico as though they seem to think these things do not happen anywhere else. It is not my intent to minimize the enormity of any killing anywhere. When I bring up that bad things happen in the US too it is not to bad mouth the US or to minimize crime in Mexico but to remind folks that bad things happen everywhere - as unfortunate as it all is.
Recently another kid was killed in Ferguson, MO by a police officer. There has been ongoing rioting for quite some time. We may never know what really happened. In FL a wanna-be cop named George Zimmerman killed Travon Martin and there was rioting. We will never know what really happened there either. These supposed officers of the law acted as individuals. They are not representative of our government or our country.
My only point is that individuals or groups of individuals do bad things but they are not representative of an entire country and the entire country should not be condemned because of the acts of a few.
Bad things happen all over the world and all of them bother us. All of them are wrong. But we have been going to Mexico for many years and know there are also many wonderful people there. And even good policemen and good military personnel. They are the majority. The bad guys are the minority. Don't jump to judge an entire country by the acts of a few. We all know bad things happen in the US but that does not make us all bad people nor is the US deserving of being labeled a bad country. Neither is Mexico.
We know from experience that what is going on in Mexico has to do with drugs and drug people. None of it has to do with the normal law abiding tourist or RVer. It concerns us and we pay attention and we are cautious. But we know this is not what the vast majority of the Mexican people are all about. So I get upset when people post comments as though all of Mexico is a bad place when we know it is not.
