With many good memories of Mexico, and not being able to remember a bad one after spending 7 winters swimming in the warm waters of Bahia Tenacatita and elsewhere, along with the travels going and returning, sorry to say, we won't be going back. Security issues primarily the reason, I'd go but not my wife. It's been five years away, except for a short foray into San Felipe and Puerto Penasco, which we found too cold and windy. Since, we've been going south from Canada mostly to Arizona and Southern California where, of course, we know we cannot enjoy the same environment as Pacific Mexico. It's fine for us, and we meet up with many of the same folk we got to know on a Mexican beach. In fact we look forward to this every year to celebrate Christmas with quite a group that includes nine or ten who no longer go to the same Mexican beach.
I agree that Canada is hard on the pocketbook to travel by land. We're on a seven month trip, for the first time have enjoyed Niagara, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, PEI, Cape Bretton, the rest of the Maritimes, down to the Boston area, New York, the Capital, and the trip through to New Orleans. Want to get back to AZ where its 80 in the afternoons. Wet and cold in the Big Easy at present.
