I own a 2008 Newmar. What can I help answer?
We are contemplating purchasing a new or one or two year old Newmar Dutch Star.
We haven't had a lot of time to look into the purchase.
Don't see them on Dealer lots.
Questions ere how much off msrp are RVers paying?
Any comments n quality of upholstery etc.
Dependability,service and warranty.
I went to a Newmar forum and see few complaints. That is what we want no more two weeks or more waiting on service, expensive service.
I cannot answer for the service quality and time due to the recent selling of Newmar to Winnebago. It remains to be seen. It will all depend upon the new arrangement and the quality of dealers. I have no experience with Winnebago other than my friend's Journey. He has a lot of problems with it.
I have been very satisfied with my Grand Star Newmar. It is quality built with all solid wood cabinets, quality appliances and furniture. Three slides. Thus far the only thing other than regular maintenance I have had done has been a change of tires, front brake calipers replaced and seal on one slide. I do not use any dealer for service as I do most myself and have a private mechanic to do what I do not wish to do. Instant service. Its a 2008 model.
The Dutch Star has a good review. I seen some for sale on RVTrader and other websites. https://www.rvtrader.com/Used-Newmar-Class-A/rvs-for-sale?type=Class%20A%7C198067&make=Newmar%7C8880048&condition=U
