It tach is "wacky" wonder if the temperature gauge is accurate???
So, first step is to use an IR gun to confirm that the engine is actually overheating and not just a gauge issue.
As far as overheating, have you cleaned the FRONT of the CAC and radiator?
Other issue could be a thermostat that is sticking-- an inexpensive replacement.
