There is actually a crash bar installed before the bridge to protect it. You can see it on the photo at this website: http://11foot8.com/about/
That's not exactly what I was talking about, but at least the bridge itself is protected. I was thinking more of something back a ways that a vehicle would hit before getting to the bridge. It would be difficult to do since the intersection is so close to the bridge.
