The 110VAC plug turned out to be a power brick that sends 12VDC to the TV, so all that would be needed for 12VDC would be a fused cord, wired with correct polarity. I think other small flat panels may be the same way, but we liked Insignia because the sound was much better than the cheapest ones. That's both sound quality and available volume. Has a VESA screw pattern for a wall bracket.
Insignia works out mid-price, between off-brands like ViewSonic and name brands like Vizio. They also offer models with built-in DVD, but ours is just a simple TV. I think we paid $99US.
I have this TV in my trailer. Wired it directly. Works great!!!
