Yes that is how u test to see if theres power to the fuse but you dont have to jump it across just ground the tester and check the prongs that the fuse inserts into and see if theres power on one side and also to see if the fuse is any good you ground the tester and check both sides of the fuse.Fuse good both sides will power test lite
