I rarely boondock either. I have had only one 12 volt battery since I bought my trailer in 04. I just replaced it this year. I wanted to do 2 - 6volts but money was tight so just replaced it with another 12 volt last month. I carry a honda 2000 for the times I do boondock. I think you can get by with one also.
