1984 MIDAS Motorhome 35ft.

I own an immaculate 1984 Midas Motorhome. I've been looking on the internet and absolutely cannot find one the same as mine! NO WHERE. Anyone have anything to add?? How rare are these? It's been an awesome RV. Been across country and then some. Bought it for $5,000 with 40,000 Miles. Now has 44,000 miles. 454 Chevy Engine.

Your Midas looks great. I just finished restoring a 1989 Fleetwood/Bounder Class A 31ft. Been a labor of love. It also has a 454 Chev. with a Quad Carb. Strong engine, but loves to drink gasoline. What mileage do you get. I thought I would get around 7 mpg. on our first shakedown trip from San Diego to Palm Springs. Round trip I got close to 6 mpg. I suppose that is to be expected.
I have the quad carb too, 6 mpg also. Be nice if the gas stays 1.51$ through the year, wouldn't be too bad going someplace down the road

I just remembered that Coachman changed the name to MRV in the 80's.
  • I have not seen one for a long time. It sounds like you got a fantastic deal.
Take care of your Midas, it will give you many years and miles of enjoyment. It's a Classic.
Thanks for sharing. Any chance of interior pics?? :)

  • In 1976 I bought a new Midas Class C. It was built in New Tazewell, TN. During the 70's the Midas plant was a large facility. Later Midas was sold and the New Tazewell plant was closed. The new owners moved the operations to Middlebury. Indiana. I think Coachman then bought Midas and done away with the name.
  • I used to see em all the time, real popular back in the day. Which company made them? Midas I guess
