1988 Ford Motorhome 1987 E-350 electric fuel pump problem

Please tell me what next to do with this problem: I have replaced the in tank electric fuel pump three times. It runs for maybe 5 to 10 minutes and stops. The pump will not turn on again. I have check...

Have you checked for voltage at tank ?
have you checked ground at tank ?
There were problems with the plug on top of the tanks on some pickups
I would use a battery and put voltage directly to pump wires and see what happens.
