Being OBDC I computers makes it harder to find a code reader handy.
Our 1992 P30 chassis would start and idle but miss and backfire on the road and got worse and worse.
First time it was the pick up coil UNDER the distributor. The part was about $10-13 dollars in 2007 but you have to pull the ENTIRE distributor out of the engine. 20K miles later our new pick up coil is still doing fine but if there was a next time I would look at going with a rebuilt distributor to save my labor or that of a shop.
About a year later it started the same missing and back firing and I was upset. On the frozen ground we replaced the $10 fuel filter near the right rear wheel. The missing and back firing was gone when we took it for a test drive. Good place to start on any vehicle. Often people do not replace a MH gas filter every year or two and if they start getting very dirty they can cause your fuel pump to over work and burn out. That is a drop the tank one weekend task if equipped.
If fact it ran better than ever. I had filled with 93 octane gas just in case it was bad fuel. That was how we learned burning premium gas in our 454 TBI gave more POWER and better MPG at the same time.
I vote this MH has an electrical issue as well since they all got it to running doing different things and it quit running again three times. There is a wire, etc that is getting bumped then it will start.
With care I would have someone trying to start the engine while I move wires with a thin switch like stick (tightly rolled newspaper, etc) in case it started it would not do much damage to me or the engine if the fan or belt grabbed it.
At this point it is time to think/expect something SIMPLE.
