It has a fuel pressure regulator in side the TBI. The only way to check fuel pressure is to plumb a gauge in to the input line, right? I think this TBI runs high pressure, like 30 psi, right? I can try that.
It has original plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Now, i should say, every time i have replaced something and road tested it, it starts back firing like clock work. I start it up cold, exit the neighborhood and take it on the freeway. It starts acting up at the same place....when i cross over bell road. (Guessing thats when it switches to closed loop. Just thinking wires may not be it.
I think this year has electronic advance, not vacuum advance.
Also, it seems to run great at wide open throttle. So, does that rule out fuel pump, or fuel pressure issues.
I probably will need to hook it up to diagnostics, i was just trying to troubleshoot circumstantially. And too see if someone else solved a similar problem.
