How soon after driving did you check the temp?
I believe 200 to 500 deg is normal.
I had the same problem after setting for 4 months I suspected some rust build up but it did not seem to be a problem when I stopped later to check again.
I've also had brand new ceramic pads squeal for 1st hundred miles (when applying brakes).
