1996 Damon Ultrasport converter question

We have a 1996 Damon Ultrasport, Chevy P-30 chassis. Does anyone know if this motorhome is wired so that when you are plugged into shore power the converter charges the chassis battery as well as the coach batteries? In the past, I pulled all the batteries and put them on a trickle charger in the basement, but this year, it may be stored when I can leave it plugged in so I'm wondering if leaving it plugged in will keep the chassis battery charged too.

Thanks!!

  • I have a 1996 damon intruder and the converter used to charge all batteries when shore power was plugged in.

My problem is the bcc took an electrical hit and blew out the solenoid on the left side of the bcc box. The person who tried to fix it cut several wires. Now to do a correct repair I need a schematic or wiring diagram or a picture of a similar bcc box.

I never realized how hard it would be to find the information.
  • I just make sure the batteries are fully charged before storage and I don't have a problem in the spring. A charged battery will not freeze. Since we get our cold weather from Wisconsin I don't think you are much colder than we are.

I have a Damon of that year, and it DOES NOT charge the chassis. I had to add that function.

    cheers
  • Check voltage on the battery with out it being plug in and the with it plug in and you will have your answer. Maybe someone with your year will ring in.
