1998 Fleetwood Discovery

Ok Wife and I are looking for a DP and we came across this unit.

Please give us your .02 on this unit. There has been A LOT of work done to this unit just not sure if it has too many red flags with all that was done.

Probably could have this for around 25k.

Ok were just about there with our new purchase. Just sold my 2002 F250 7.3 this morning so we are officially done with the truck and trailer. We are waiting for the seller to gather up all of his receipts for the engine work that was done to this coach before we send off the deposit.

I have a 1999 Discovery 36t and am very pleased with it. I pull a jeep wrangler or a flatbed with toys and the 5.9 with 6 speed tranny does fine. I wouldn't be scared of the high mileage as long as the rig looks well cared for and at that price I would definitely consider it.

Well my wife and I just had a video call today with the seller. I must say it's looking good. The seller is very meticulous which is a good sign in my opinion. But we have more research to do.

Octanefam it is not my money and I am far far away but from I set typing I see NO red flags. The owner is not bankrupt I expect. The ones that are can own DP's with great needs for any new owner.

THey upgraded to a 40' Monaco because his family out grew the Discovery.

Have everything inspected. This is one of those cases (almost all are) but ESPECIALLY this one. Get a pro RV inspector to check it out.

Here is some more information:

I asked about flooring, leaks, and the engine work and everything below is what he has told me. So far this guy seems to be very honest about everything.

composite tile glued to a moisture barrier fabric. Grout is real. The floor floats so it does move very slightly underfoot. Normal. All appliances work no issues. Cruise control has intermittent relay mounted on chassis, havent replaced yet about $45. Ice maker in fridge is disabled for winter travel,

It had a previous leak at the corner of the shower skylight...fixed and no permanent damage. No soft spots floor walls or roof. No delamination. . Washer dryer we used about a dozen times works as new.

Some cummins engines had cast valve seats, some had pressed in. This one was pressed in. It dropped an exhaust valve seat in cylinder 2 and caused cylinder and piston damage. We replaced the head with the bulletproof cast valve seats and went through everything else as listed on ebay

It runs awesome, we put a slightly larger hot side housing on the turbo for wider boost band and lower egt's. Runs so well, very strong and cool even towing water temp never seen over 190 and egt's well under 1300 even on long steep grades hot weather through vegas, . No expense was spared.

Here is a bit more info:

Seller says he should have all the receipts they weren't planning on selling so he would have to gather them up. I know machine shop that did the work. Tires are within the last 2 years one was very recent with 0 miles on it. Second owner he bought it with 44k so he put most the miles on the coach. He said they spent three months every year traveling. AC units blow cold and he says the water heater works as brand new. Both furnaces have been replaced and the Fridge is cold. He mentioned he insulated the water pump and put a quiet kit on it. The awnings are all in excellent shape.

Factory Installed 2000 Watt Heart Interface Inverter/Charger

The 98 came with a OEM 1000 watt. It will be black in color.
The 5.9L will give you a easy 10 + MPG and pull a toad with no problem.

About time for both AC's & water heater needing replaced.
Been there done that.

NAPA Retail price with slide is 22K without 16K.
Low retail around 4K less.
With some of the updates it has. It may be a deal for the 25K

Roof-Mounted Satellite Dish Manual Point will not get DTV HD.
