2 air filters
I have a 1989 Winnebago Chieftain with a 454 and Qjet carb. What is the inner air filter for and how do you clean it?

No it is not. look at it closely. The outer filter is the usually throw away filter but there is the inner one that is made of a metal screen type material that seams to be fastened to the housing and not removable
