glamousorbust is correct about that Cummins engine. We had two failures when brand new blowing a hole on the side of the block. I believe I read that those engines were manufactured in Mexico and they had lots of problems with them. Like he said the number 53 is stamped on the side of the block.
But those engines on pickups did have plenty of power. The two I am referring to were on Dodge pickups.
