The mechanical 8.3 became a ISC (electronic control) in 1998 and the valves increased to 24. The CAPS injector system was used which is prone to lift pump leaks... $400 and half a day. In 2004 it went to a high pressure rail fuel system which has proven to be a better system. A 1998 MH could have a 1997 engine... 2000 less likely.
Monaco bought up a bunch of 06 ISL engines and you could still find then in some MH's as late as 09.
