Hello everyone. I am trading in my 2000 Fleetwood Discovery after 13 years and 368,500 miles. We have traveled around America many times and its time to give her a rest. She had a 275 isb cummins that ran strong up until this past week. I had to go into first gear up a hill for the first time! We have had many good times together and I will miss her.... But her replacement is very similar ....a 2002 Discovery with low low miles that look like new inside and out. The owner kept her in a garage the whole time and was well taken care of. She has a 330 Cat . I hope she is as strong and reliable! If anyone wants to ask any questions... Shoot me an emaiL.

Congrats...On your old one how often did you change oil and is that regular oil or syn??

Have you contacted Fleetwood? That is an amazing amount of miles on an RV. Congratulations on the new one but I am impressed; your maintenance must be superb!

Just Curious, Who is taking the trade on you Motorhome??

I did the best I could on maintenance ... Oil changes anywhere from 10 k to 18 k. Transmission every 75 k ... Had a few problems but nothing major over the years.... I used synthetic oil everywhere I could. I traded it in at Camping world. I thought I would get maybe 5 or 10 k. ... But was surprised when they gave me 20k !!! They said they were going to wholesale it out. My wife made a list of about twenty things that we need to fix... Step, fridge, air heat.... The list goes on.... It was just time for a fully working rig !

368,500 miles at about 8 mpg equals 46,062 gallons of diesel fuel. You say 13 years so diesel was about $1.60 or so back then and went to over $4? Lets say $3 a gallon average for the last 13 years. That's $138,187.50 worth of fuel you burned in that thing! That is one heck of a lot of travel. I'd love to be able to do that but at todays fuel prices who could afford it?

I noticed that in my new 2002 discovery it still has the original Trojan T105s dated June of 01 . They were marked F 1 on the neg stem....I assume that is 01 not 11. They seem to be working fine.... Do I replace them or keep using them!

I had replaced the ones in my 2000 D every 4 years or so.....! This is 11 years. This seems to be a better brand.

That is impressive. I am about the same mileage over the past 12 years. Lots of FT pushing or past 200k now too. Gotta love A MH for putting on the miles. Much better than any other form of transport.

I changed all of the radiator hoses on my 330 cat last year, and after 12 years they still looked good. If it were me, I'd change the hoses, flush the cooling system well with distilled water on the last flush, and install the Cat long life coolant.

I've had great service from the cat 330 engine.

20k on paper is not 20k. They took it off the list price which they would do anyway.

Trust me! They probably put -0- in your coach, but made you feel good by not reducing their price by $20K which they would have done for a cash buyer.;)
