2000 era, Beaver or Foretravel

I actually had both of those brands on my list when I was looking in 2012, including Country Coach. I looked at several Beavers, on both coasts, including one fairly local to my home, and another in Massachusetts. The one in CA, just north of me was almost pristine, and if it would have been a few thousand dollars less, I might have bought it. The one in MA was hammered, rust everywhere.

Then I saw a Foretravel up in Seattle. Unfortunately, the seller gave me completely false info about it. They had been living in it for a long time, and just didn't take care of it. They had put a lot of money into it, but it was just a mess. That was a wasted trip, but what it did was confirm the collective wisdom here about the brand to take a look at, and I was hot on the trail for a Foretravel. I found the one for me in Florida. It was exactly what I wanted, including the retarder, one of the best selling features. I got lucky and found a low mileage, garaged from new, only used for family vacations and Nascar races, coach that was meticulously cared for by the previous first owners. I love it and have wholeheartedly recommended that brand to anyone looking.
