Had the same damage. Bull's-eye from a BB gun. My insurance covered the repair work by Safelight. They came to the house and performed a resin fill of the crack. That was five years ago and the damage hasn't grown and the glass has passed state inspection each year.
As long as only one layer of the glass is damaged and any cracks have not grown it can be repaired. It the damaged extends to the interior glass or cracks are bigger than a dollar bill I not sure if can be repaired.
