Depends on the damage. Even the repair techs can't tell you exactly what to expect if the repair is done. They can, however tell you whether they can do the repair or not. Just make sure you have a reputable company come out...stay away from the popups at the car washes.
Most insurance companies will cover that type of windshield repair without charging a deductible. I've had several over the years in my cars. In the moho, one lasted 4 years before cracking again, needing a windshield replacement. Another one only lasted several months. Both times I was not charged for either the repair or the new windshields. And my rates have not increased.....Dennis
