- cdl2ExplorerJohn Wayne......that's when mine goes out.
It seems the fan goes off too, but it could be going to the defrost vents. As noted above. - John_WayneExplorer IIAt one time 2001 had a recall to change out the vacuum canister to the old style. mine has the same problem usually happens when pulling a grade.
- spotrotExplorerIf yours has (colored) plastic tubing, inspect its condition in the engine compartment.
Areas of mine deteriorated from the heat and caused similar problems - cdl2ExplorerI'll check the vents.
And the vacuum tubing.
The RV dealer said this is normal, but I find it hard to believe people would put up with this. - sch911ExplorerWhen the system cuts out is it the airflow from the vents? If so check the defrost outlets when it's happening as recommended. If there is airflow there then you have a vacuum problem.
- cdl2ExplorerI don't think I have a vacuum motor, like on the Safari.
Yes....dash heat & A/C.
On the way to the camp ground it worked fine, but on the way home it got really bad!!!!
I've been working on the A/C, adding Freon. - wolfe10ExplorerAssume you are talking about the dash HVAC. Sounds like you may have a bad vacuum line or vacuum motor. Defrost is the default position in absence of vacuum.
Start tracing at the engine, as heat accelerates the degradation of the rubber vacuum lines.
