2004 phaeron differential out

I am broken down and Carson City Nevada. I'm scheduled to take my 2004 Phaeton to Carson truck and auto repair tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience with this business. My differential has gone out at 93,000 miles. Any suggestions thanks for the help.

  • Be prepared for sticker shock. They will replace the diff with a rebuilt unit and probably new axle bearings and seals at the same time. Not a cheap job. Been there and done that with my gas rig after water got into the rear axle and caused damage.

Brakes on a DP would almost be like never.

Would not that depend on the amount of use/mileage?

While the answer is "yes", the reality is on a DP Mike is correct. Those brakes normally last as long as the MH itself.

To the OP, if possible, please keep us posted on what they find - it may help someone else from suffering the same issue. Losing a rear differential is very unusual. Then again, my Uncle just lost the transmission in his DP as well, again, unusual, but it happens.

  • RV Service reviews has tree reviews for Carson Truck and Auto service and all three rated them as excellent.

  • Sorry to hear that.
Often times large diffs like that are simply swapped out with a rebuilt unit.
So the actual set-up is done by pro's in a shop that does it everyday and you get a quality repair.
