2004 Scepter ground shock

when I'm on shore power and have my rear AC on I get a 120v reading to the ground and my compressor well not kick on. When I go to the generator no ground shock and the AC works fine. The forward AC works fine both ways . I have to have 50amp service. All the ground wires are connected that I can see.Help please!!!

    Is this a 30 or 50 amp RV.. You have a wiring fault or a short in the Rear AC.. In this case I am going to recommend professional help.

    There is also an open ground somewhere,, All bad things.
  • The front and rear are most likely on different legs of the 50 amps. One leg in your cord or shore power side of the transfer switch may be shorted to ground. Unplug your cord and ohm it from each hot post to ground at the plug end of your cord.
  • the AC works fine on the gen power. It's as if there is a short in one leg on shore power. I can touch the metal and to the ground with my meter and get the reading.
  • I am not clear on how or where you are measuring the 120acv to ground with the rear AC on but compressor will not run.

    Perhaps there are start or run capacitors that have failed in the compressor unit?
