2005 Fleetwood Tioga 31M

Looking at a 2005 Fleetwood Tioga 31M with 26K and seeing if anyone has any experience with this model.

Here's a link, it's actually a 2005, not 2008 as listed.

It has a lot of windows above the cab (2 side, 1 front) and we found mold under a small storage bin on the right. Not sure if they left the window open or not. The inside wall and outside seemed solid in the area. Couldn't find any delamination on outside top cab by the window. The technicians on site said the seals around the window and top cab area were ok. On the back slide, one of the vertical seals was missing. Here it was shoved in the bottom (they would fix this though they said).

Would this pull a 3100lb vehicle, non flat towed? Looks like the rating is only 3500lbs, even though on the same F450 chassis as others but the extended frame may have reduced the rating. Not sure what some of these tow dollies weigh.
  • I have a 2008 Tioga 31M, and I can tell you that motorhome is not a 2008. Just by comparing the front cap, which is not a solid piece, and the cabinet next to the upper bank, gives you a clue.
  • There can be a gap -- our Ford chassis is a 2005 model year, but the title says 2006, which is the year the coach was built.

    Is that the same one?
Looks like Leo's RV may have updated their ad.
I can say from the pic (given it's of the same RV) that the Chassis is 2007 or earlier. No idea what make it actually a 2005...

Going to have to call them to verify. They said it was a 2005 when we looked at it.
  • Interesting -- the ad that j-d posted lists a 5000 lb hitch weight. I'd ask for a photo of the actual rating sticker, which might be in the rear bedroom closet, and lists the actual capacities & structural weights.

  • We don't have the Tioga, but have pulled a Honda minivan with our 31' E450 for the past 10 years with no discernible consequences. Our hitch capacity is rated for 5000 lbs, though.

Our tow dolly is around 700 lbs empty, which is a wide Master Tow.

You might want to check on the actual weight on your vehicle -- if 3100 lbs is the curb weight, which typically includes passengers and a full tank of fuel, you might be able to make it work if you tow it completely empty.
  • I am towing a 2012 Jeep Patriot 3200 lbs with a 2007 Winnabago Access 31 ft. It is on Chevy chassis with the 6 liter engine.
    hope this helps!
