One of my thoughts also. 30,000 miles recommended interval. Easy to miss the note since Ford listed it in the very last pages as "Exceptions" of the Schedule Maintenance Guide. Same with the two year brake fluid flush. Doesn't hurt to change the thermostat and serpentine belt at the same time.
Next question is do you hear the engine fan kick in around 210 deg? My dog hose is sound insulated but when the fan is active it sounds like the transmission down shifted a gear.
My worst east of the Mississippi hill climbs in summer heat I've seen 214 for the cylinder head temp and 174 on the transmission as measure by a Scan Gauge.
