yes, that is correct. The accuracy of this ratio varies because some manufactures may or may not include bumpers or ladders in the overall length. Also, the ratio should not be looked at alone. Other important factors include chassis suspension equipment and front and rear axle weights compared to their capacities and chassis factory recommendations for front end loading. For example, a unit could have a decent ratio, but drive poorly if all the tanks and heavy things were in the rear.
