Historically: Coachmen, Fourwinds/Dutchmen, Fleetwood, Forest River (in Sunseeker), and Gulfstream built that floorplan for the rental market. Jayco built that briefly. Not all of those companies still build it, or are even in the C motorhome business.
I could certainly be wrong, but based on my research I disagree. What I think most people DON'T notice when someone asks questions about this particular floor plan (which is rare) is that this is not the standard 24' rear corner bed Class C floor plan (which includes a dinette and barrel chair). That's the one everyone made. Instead, this is a rear corner bed plan with a dinette and couch, which in the case of the model we purchased is only about a foot longer than the standard 24' plans with the barrel chair. Only a foot extra in length (varies by manufacturer, of course), but a whole couch instead of a barrel chair...that's what stands out about these models. We stumbled across the floor plan in 2006 and didn't purchase until 2010. That entire time I was on the lookout for alternative models to compare with the 2007 2430 that we purchased and could not find one (except a couple of older Coachmen's which we ruled out for other reasons, mostly interior height). It's only been in the last year or so that I started seeing a similar layout (Coachmen 23CB or 230CB) and now finally for 2014 it looks like Winnebago is coming out with one.
Obviously, it's not the right fit for everyone, but for us this floor plan is fantastic and despite going to RV shows every year (for fun - we're perfectly content) we have yet to see another one, nor a different option that would beat it.
