A couple of comments, from a 2014 Tuscany owner:
Too many of the comments here are blanket slams at Thor products (kind of like hating on a Cadillac because your old Vega was cheaply made). Thor is the largest manufacturer in the RV industry, and builds in every segment. No comment on anything but a recent Tuscany is really relevant to the OP.
The Venetian is not the current "top of the line" Thor product. In order, from the top, Thor diesel pushers are:
Tuscany
Venetian
Tuscany XTE
Palazzo
We now have over 30k miles on our 2014, and are still happy with it. We bought it because we felt it had the best features and floor plan in our price range, and nothing since has changed our opinion. It had a few initial problems, which Thor fixed under warranty, and anything since has been what I'd consider normal wear and tear. We have two Schwintek slides (the smaller ones), and one full-wall hydraulic slide, and have had no problems with any of them.

We have a 2014 Tuscany 40RX... Have we had problems? Yes, but, no more than any other manufacturer of RVs. Even the much acclaimed Prevost and Airstream have issues. To those that won't buy a Thor product, you are really limiting your selection...IIRC, Thor now owns many of the major players (KZ, Keystone, Airstream, Heartland and the list goes on) and that they produce ~80% of the RV market now. I believe many of the detractors of almost any manufacturer can trace the root of their frustrations to the seller or servicing entity's interaction with the manufacturer. I certainly will never purchase another RV of any type from my original dealer. That, however, is not an indication of Thor quality or service. Would I buy my Tuscany again? In a heartbeat. Would I consider another Tuscany, or other Thor product in the future? Yes.
The Tuscany was originally a Damon product and as the company struggled to stay in business, so, too, did the quality of the product. Once Thor purchased Damon's product line, the same quality issues existed and it takes time to correct that sort of thing. One truism is that it takes a long, long time to build a good reputation and only moments to destroy it and a bad reputation can haunt you for a long time, even after the root cause has been fixed. Most everything in a forum, any forum, is negative, It is the nature of the beast and many opinions are based on a report of someone who knew someone that thought they read somewhere on the web... Here are two Tuscany owners that actually like theirs.
