Aug 29, 2016I made another trip to the dealer and spent about an hour looking over the 2017 24G with no sales people around. The View is not unfamiliar territory having driven about 10,000 miles per year for the last six in our Navion. So, I have the advantage of "If I could do it over." I think I am close to final choices on the options.
Noise. Yeah, there is that. I don't think the LP generator is much quieter than our Diesel; just different. The AC is loud. The alternative is sweat in silence. The one noise maker that made me nuts was the water pump. As with my last RV, that was one of the first upgrades. I replaced the stock pump with a variable speed one. The Fantastic Fan is just that, fantastic. There is a great feature that may be overlooked. On one trip we camped in an area that had more mosquitos than stars in the sky. The dog and I go out for a walk and come back covered in skeeters. In order not to be completely drained of blood in the night, my wife goes to swatting the little buggers and getting blood on the walls and ceiling. My plan is better. Turn the fan on high, stand under it serving as bait and the mosquitos get swept up by the fan. After a few minutes, I sweep off the screen and bingo... bug free.
That large vent/skylight is an option. Any reason I should avoid getting that installed? I suspect it could let in more than light and fresh air?
