We're in the same kind of market, but leaning toward the Mercedes diesels especially the Tiffin 24TW or 24FW. I drove a 24TW yesterday and it's pretty quiet, much quieter than the Ford V-10.
The 24TW has one small slideout at the couch or dinette (both convert to a bed) and a bunk over the cab. In the back are twin beds that convert to a king. The one I drove had the optional hydraulic leveling jacks.
The 24FW has a full wall slide with a queen Murphy bed. The one we're looking at has a dinette that converts and no bunk over the cab.
We've owned diesel Class A motorhomes, but I'd like something we can park at home and our parking is very limited. We do have a spot where a 25' Class C motorhome will fit nicely. I brought the 24FW to the house, backed it into the parking spot and it fit with no problem.
We don't have kids, but we do have two dogs and a cat. The idea of quick trips with little to no planning is appealing. We can visit out of town friends and park in their driveway. I don't think we'll need a tow car since they're small enough to run to the store for anything we forgot to pack.
