I actually do...however, I mistyped "neutral" instead of "ground" in that post. That's what I get for trying to make a post during a busy day at work. :) Anyway, I editted the post, it is correct now. Is there something else in my post with which you disagree?
I have installed and still have some 6/3 Romex cable with an 8 gauge ground. It IS possible to have the ground wire smaller than the current carrying conductors, and at least at the time, within code. The neutral, as you point out, must be sized the same as the current carrying conductors.
