Load shedding intelligent power management systems have been common for a long long time.
Our first, a 1999 Fleetwood pace arrow, had such a system, and it would run both a/c's on 30 amps.
The Monaco, a DP with 50 amp, also has intelligent power management. It knows when I plug into a 30 amp pedaltle (with an adapter) and if I'm on a 20 amp line (if I press a button) and it will monitor and shed loads accordingly.
So No, these systems are not rare at all.
That said, a 30 amp RV is a single pole system, while a 50 amp is a 2 pole system, switching from one to the other isn't easy.
the benefits are marvelous though... from "just enough power with 1 x 30 amps, to "more than I could ever use" with 2 x 50 amps.
