You can rewire to 50 amps. The breaker panel will work as is by changing the main breaker. You must also run 4 wire #6 between the transfer switch and breaker panel. You will also have to change the shore power cord to a 50 amp 4 wire #6. It is a lot easier to wire in an auxiliary 20 amp connection to the AC. It could also be used for an electric space heater in the winter. Almost all campground power pedestals have a 20 amp receptacle in addition to the 30 amp and 50 amp.
